Hi, I’m Ezgi a junior at The MacDuffie School, and I believe in the power of empathy to heal and connect. I first felt drawn to psychology after witnessing volunteer psychologists working with children in earthquake zones. Their quiet strength, their ability to sense the sorrow in a child’s heart and respond with care. It moved me deeply. That moment sparked my desire to study psychology and to serve communities in meaningful ways.

This page shares some of the projects I’ve joined or led, each rooted in compassion, curiosity, and a commitment to making a difference.

My Message

I’m not a psychologist yet. I’m just a high school girl who feels things deeply and wants to understand people better.
After the earthquake, I saw something I’ll never forget. There were children sitting quietly in tents, holding pain they couldn’t explain. And there were psychologists beside them. They were calm, kind, and present. They didn’t have magic words, but they stayed. They listened. They cared. That moment stayed with me.
I realized I want to be someone like that. Someone who sees the sadness behind a smile. Someone who helps, even when the problem can’t be fixed right away.
The world is full of noise, but not enough listening. I think psychology is more than a subject. It’s a way to make people feel seen, heard, and safe.
I dream of a future where every child has someone who understands them. Where no one feels alone with their feelings. I know I’m just starting, but I believe even small steps can lead to big change.

This is a quiet journey shaped by empathy, guided by learning, and carried by the hope of gentle impact. These projects are not just tasks. They reflect a belief that real healing begins with understanding and meaningful change begins with care.

CREATIVE CORNER

Here is where thoughts turn into words, feelings into melodies, and quiet moments into something meaningful.
Every note, every sentence, every idea is a small piece of how I see the world.

COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”

— Margaret Mead

RHYTHM & MOTION

Some things speak without words. On the tennis court, I learn focus, rhythm, and resilience. With the violin, I find emotion, patience, and quiet strength. Both remind me that growth takes practice, and expression comes in many forms.
